Mission
At PranaSol, we work to empower individuals and communities to cultivate balance, resilience, and well-being through science-backed mindfulness practices. By integrating evidence-based techniques with personalized guidance, we strive to inspire meaningful growth, foster emotional clarity, and create a foundation for sustainable mental, emotional, and physical health.
Behind the Name
Prana, the Sanskrit word for “life force,” represents the vital energy that flows within and around us, sustaining every breath we take. Sol, the Latin word for “sun,” is the radiant force that nourishes all life on Earth. Together, PranaSol embodies the harmony of breath and light—the essence of strength, renewal, and vitality. Our mission is to empower you with the tools to cultivate resilience, not just to endure life’s challenges, but to rise, flourish, and thrive.
What is Mindfulness?
Mindfulness is awareness and nonjudgmental acceptance of one's internal states and surroundings from moment to moment. Mindfulness is essentially a state of being, while meditation, yoga, breathwork, etc. are practices that develop mindfulness. Just as weight training builds muscle strength leading to a stronger, more agile body, the practice of mindful techniques strengthen your awareness and personal management skills to better help you meet life's demands each day.
How it Began
Over twenty years ago, I embarked on a journey chasing monkeys through jungles, luring bears in the temperate rainforest, and immersing myself in remote landscapes and cultures. Working in wildlife ecology was exhilarating but also demanding, pushing me to my limits physically, mentally, and emotionally. While in the jungles of Thailand, covered in biting insects with the worst heat rash I've ever had, I was forced to learn to focus on the movements of the monkeys I was collecting data from versus the discomfort, annoyance, and real threats of snakes and tigers or I couldn't do my job each day. This is how I discovered mindfulness and, eventually, yoga, offering me survival tools and a way to find stillness in the storms.

These practices became my anchor, helping me heal from trauma, navigate the chaos of life, and even reawaken my mind after becoming a mother. They taught me that resilience isn't just about endurance but a deeper connection. Our brains can rewire, our hearts can open, and we can move through life with the right tools with greater awareness and grace.

Now, I combine my science background with mindfulness, yoga, and education to help others reconnect with themselves and the world around them. Whether in the wilderness or guiding my children through a moment of overwhelm, my mission remains to empower people with the skills to thrive during their "one wild and precious life."
